founders

Simon Mathews
CEO
Drawing on over 20 years of strategic consultancy experience at communications, advertising and digital agencies around the globe, Simon started PointOne Digital to help clients drive exceptional outcomes for their customers. His passion for seeking out and applying the latest digital design technologies and innovative strategies has paid off for clients and brands across a variety of industries—from financial services and technology to retail and healthcare.
Ever a champion of user-centered design, Simon executes against an agile, iterative process when leading multidisciplinary teams of business strategists, interaction designers, content strategists and visual designers. This approach has benefited both major corporations and startups including AIG, Autodesk, Dell, Emirates Airlines, IBM, LeapFrog, LVMH, Merrill Corp, McAfee, Nokia, Reebok, St. Luke’s, Southwest Airlines, Stanford Health Care, TD Bank and Ubisoft.
Simon has made his way through 56 countries and counting. If he’s not rolling up his sleeves, working alongside his clients, Simon can be found speaking at conferences and symposiums. And when he’s off the clock, you’ll often find him taking his kiteboard for a spin in some far-flung, windy destination.

Ernie Chan
COO
Ernie has devoted the past 18-plus years to helping global companies deliver outstanding and engaging digital experiences to their customers. The clients he’s served run the gamut of industries—from media and entertainment to financial services and investment management. Ernie’s led complex engagements involving user experience and technology as well as digital and marketing strategy for the likes of Autodesk, Blackrock, BOK Financial, Coca-Cola, Franklin Templeton Investments, LeapFrog, McAfee, Merrill Corp, SanDisk, Ubisoft, Visa, W.L. Gore and the Walt Disney Company.
Doubling down on his commitment to deliver creative solutions and sage advice to clients, Ernie co-founded PointOne Digital. A long-time digital enthusiast, he brings a wealth of experience in user-centered design, data analytics, business strategy and client relationship management to the table.
He also brings with him a healthy dose of humor and a deep, abiding love of Cal (Berkeley) sports. (Go Bears!) When he’s out of the office, he’s busy chasing after his two boys, racking up mileage/loyalty points and searching out the best meal in whatever town he’s landed in.

Senior UX Visual Designer

PointOne Digital is seeking an innovative and detailed-oriented Senior UX Visual Designer to join our team. This opportunity is for a 3-4 month long-term contract, with an option to go full-time.
Hit us up, if you have...
- At least 5 years experience working as a visual designer/art director and/or product designer
- Desire to deliver beautiful visual design while balancing user experience, business requirements and technological limitations
- A portfolio showcasing innovative visual designs and design systems (including UI elements, typography, color palettes) for digital products, responsive websites, complex systems, logged-in applications, and/or mobile apps
- Strong understanding of systematic/system-level design
- Expert-level knowledge designing in Sketch
- Proficiency in prototyping tools (Invision, Flinto, Marvel, or similar applications)
- Strong knowledge of interaction/motion best practices
- Up-to-date knowledge of latest trends in design, UX and interaction
- A keen attention to detail, sense of ownership and responsibility for your work, and outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to effectively share your ideas with peers and clients, as well as communicate complex design decisions and persuasively influence your audience
- A collaborative, team-player mentality and enjoy collaborating with fellow UX designers, as well as strategists, project managers, developers, and clients
- Ability to travel (< 10%)
